Accommodation Description


Kitchen: Well designed spacious kitchen with solid oak worktops, featuring a modern Aga, larder style fridge freezer, integrated dishwasher, Belfast sink and hand made oak kitchen table with seating for eight offering a more informal sociable space when the chef is creating.

Open plan sitting and dining room: Generous and comfortable lounge to accommodate all guests. Painted beams and metal posts add original character. The room is elegantly furnished with leather sofas and extra large armchair, the intricately carved chaise longue and matching armchairs (were acquired in Afghanistan), lamps, large wall mounted TV with Sky channels, Bose music system, hi spec Jotul rotating wood burning stove next to the round dining table (hand made in Sudan) and eight chairs. An impressive chandelier hangs proudly above the dining table. The built in bookshelves occupy one wall entirely to keep a sizeable collection of books and travel mementos from Central Asia and Russia. There is wooden hard flooring throughout with carpets from Afghanistan and the Caucasus. The tri-fold French doors open to the patio with extensive views to the gently rolling countryside beyond.

Double Bedroom 1: Accessed from the kitchen, this comfortably square bedroom has a double size bed, unique bedside tables with Osier Carr branding, an armchair, full-length mirror and tall wardrobe with shelving. French doors and window to the garden.

En Suite Shower Room: Walk in shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Single Bedroom: Good sized bedroom with single bed, bedside table with lamp, opulent and modern armchair and wardrobe with shelving. Window to the garden.

Bunk Bedroom: A comfortable room for children with generously sized hand made bunk beds with lamp, shelving and wardrobe space. Window to the garden.

Family Bathroom:  Serving the single & bunk bedrooms, spacious bathroom with roll top bath, separate walk in shower, WC, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. Window to the hedge row.

Double Bedroom 2: Double size bed, unique bedside tables with Osier Carr branding, hand made wardrobe with shelving, leather sofa and round upcycled coffee table made of glass and a well travelled camel saddle. French doors to the garden.

Shower Room:  Opposite this bedroom is a shower room, comprising walk in shower, WC, wash hand basin, bidet and heated towel rail.

Master Bedroom: A lovely room with King size bed, bedside tables with lamps, family heirloom chest of drawers, and fitted mirrored wardrobes. French doors and window to the garden.

En suite Bathroom: Impressive and large room with walk in shower, roll top bath, WC, bidet, wash hand basin and towel rail. Window to the garden

Sauna: Accessed through the master suite is the sauna, good size for four people.

Outside: The barn enjoys an uninterrupted view of the surrounding countryside, not overlooked which guarantees privacy during the guests’ stay. A gate on the main drive secures the grounds from the road. Parking on gravel and stone paved areas at the front and far end of the barn provide a space for four cars comfortably.  The south-facing garden is to the front of the barn and comprises of patio with flower and herb beds, lawn, orchard and enclosed vegetable patch. There is garden furniture and a BBQ.

There is hard standing at the entrance to Osier Carr Barn with a small step to all the front and French doors. All the doorways are wide enough for wheelchair access.  There are no steps up or down inside the house and walk in showers are available throughout with the large enclosure in one en suite to allow access for less mobile guests.
